She who Carries our Warriors
This unique sculpture was created first with a belly casting of myself while I was pregnant, then I warped up a floor loom and began designing a fitted tunic. I used both twilling and twinning techniques to form a diamond shape accentuating the breasts and belly button. The green border at the bottom represents the mountains in my traditional territory. This is a tribute to motherhood and a tribute to those in our community who carry themselves with the integrity of a warrior.
