Almost weft behind

This painting is my version of a timeline created with a traditional weaving pattern. The break in the middle signifies how we almost lost this artform during the epidemics, residential schools and other negative influences. A hand is catching part of it and it revitalized into a vivid art form. This is what I feel I do with my weavings. I take traditional materials and put my own spin on it to create a new way of looking at weaving.
